William Darden Hales, age 76, passed away on January 6, 2023. He was born in Fayetteville NC on January 26, 1946 to the late J P Hales Jr. And Lois Darden Hales.

William graduated from Fayetteville Senior High and attended UNC Chapel Hill. He joined the Air Force 1968, served four years and was stationed in Germany.

William served his community by serving in several civic organizations in Raleigh.

He will be remembered as a gregarious, outgoing, friendly and helpful man. He enjoyed spending time with his friends and family.

He moved to Tallahassee in 1994 and lived there until 2020.

William was employed in computer software management and enjoyed a successful career.

He enjoyed fishing and going to the beach with his brother, sister and nieces and nephews. He was quite a chef and always had a twinkle in his eye and a story to share.

Preceded in death by his brother J P Hales lll.

He will be missed and fondly remembered by his sister Nancy Hales Zartarian, her children, Sonja, Jennifer, and Martin, and by his brother’s children, Karen Foerster and Laura Hales. Also by the many friends he has collected over the years.
