Obituary For Mary Frances Kane

Mary Frances Kane of Raleigh peacefully passed away on December 21, 2022, at the age of 82.

Mary was born on June 15, 1940, in Buffalo, New York to William George and Mary Catherine Webb. She graduated from Bennett High School and soon after married her beloved husband, Joseph J. Kane, of 51 years.

Mary worked in several professional occupations, while raising her three daughters. She retired to Raleigh in 1994 where she enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Her greatest joy was serving the Lord alongside her husband in several ministries including Special Olympics and Catholic Parish Outreach and as a Eucharistic Minister. Mary was an active member of St Francis Assisi Catholic Church for 28 years.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph J. Kane (2011). Her life will be forever cherished in the lives of her daughters: Katherine Kane, Kristen Rizzo (Richard Eberhardt), and Susan Frizell (Daniel). Devoted grandmother of Zachary Rizzo (Sarah), Elliott Rizzo (Jenny), and Lauren Frizell. Great Grandmother to Louis and Camden.

A celebration of her life will be held at St Francis of Assisi Church in the St. Mary of the Angels Chapel on Tuesday, January 17th at 1:00 PM. Friends are welcome to pay their respects to the family starting at noon. Reception will follow the mass.

"May the road rise up to meet you. May the wind be always at your back. May the sun shine warm upon your face; the rains fall soft upon your fields and until we meet again, may God hold you in the palm of His hand."

For those contemplating a memorial of Mary, in lieu of flowers, please consider donations to an Alzheimer's or Dementia Association.

Mary, I will miss those BIG Irish hugs. Every Christmas, it was baking the cookies, just like Joe did and sharing them with all who knew you. I pray for your family to be at peace, and may they see many cardinals and know you are thinking of them Love, Georgia
