Jo-Ann Mural, 75, of Morrisville, NC, passed away September 22, 2022.

Jo-Ann was born in Brooklyn, NY, to John and Marion Audoire. The oldest of eight children, she grew up in Long Island, NY. After graduating high school, Jo-Ann attended SUNY Oswego in Oswego, NY, and graduated with a degree in teaching. She spent many years as a math teacher at faith-based schools in Stottville and Valatie, NY, and as a substitute teacher in the public school system. In more recent years, Jo-Ann assisted with the bookkeeping and many other volunteer roles for the churches she attended in Rensselaer, NY, and Durham, NC.

After college, Jo-Ann got a job as a French teacher near Syracuse, NY, where she met police officer Robert (Bob) Mural through mutual friends. She and Bob married on August 21, 1971. Bob was the love of Jo-Ann’s life and with their strong faith as the center, they built a life together in Kinderhook, NY. They had two children - Jeffrey and Bernadette. Jo-Ann lived there until 2014 when she moved to Morrisville, NC, with Jeff, his wife Catherine and their two sons, Alexander and Christopher, and shared a home with them.

Jo-Ann’s faith in God and her desire to serve was the guiding force to her life. She spent many years investing in service through teaching at faith-based schools. She was devoted to her church and considered them family. Her church work exemplified her servant’s heart.

Her love for her grandchildren was known by all. If you talked to her, she wasted no opportunity to show you photos and share anecdotes. Being a loving, proud and involved Mémé (grandmother) brought joy to her life that she shared with all.

Jo-Ann was one of the most godly women I have ever met. She was always ready to pray for any need that you may have and she always checked to see if that need had been met. I feel blessed to have been her friend and pray the memoirs of her will comfort her family and friends always.

Jo-Ann was a special lady and friend. When she greeted you she made you feel loved. Her smile could light up a room. When we attended the church in East Greenbush she'd go up to people and start talking to them. I told her that she was so friendly that she could make friends with a tree. How we laughed over that. I will deeply miss her, but Praise God I know I'll see her again in heaven. She's with Jesus! Praise God. I love and miss you Jo.

To Family/Friends, May God bless, comfort, keep, strengthen you all during your time of bereavement, throughout healing side of bereavement. Ms Joann was a great help and inspiration to my life over past couple of years. Will treasure the times we spent praying and shopping together. She was a good friend that I looked up to. So hard to say goodbye, but find comfort in word of God. "We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord[2Corinthians 5:8/KJV]. R.I.P. Jo-Ann it was my honor and privilege to know you. You were a bright light in our morning prayer group always willing to pray for others and other than asking for traveling mercies you never asked for prayer for yourself, it was always for others in need. I never heard you say a bad word about anyone. You shared your love and wisdom quickly and freely and you will always have a place in my heart. You're most frequent prayer request was for your children to returned back to Christ and lead your grand children into a relationship with him as well. I will continue that prayer for you but I'm sure now that you're walking with Jesus, he will grant your wish. I'm so happy that you're in heaven my friend!
