My next-door neighbor for over twenty years, Jo Ann Edwards was the first person I met when I moved into Weathersfield in August of 2000. I well recall her coming up to me, hand open with an offer of just picked tomatoes. From that day forward, I had the best advisor possible on everything having to do with plants. In my memories, she will always be gardening. We even planted a tree together to help keep the sun off my front door so I could touch the handle. Jo Ann knew just what to get! If anything needed doing inside the house, she was also an amazing resource. Jo Ann had an eye for creating beauty in any space or for finding that perfect paint color. Sometimes we would have some wine and paint together. I loved her smiles, laughter, and stories! Her taking time for my son Ryan meant a great deal to me as well. She found little treasures for him, here and there, and always paid him too much for helping her as he got older. Jo Ann Edwards will hold a special place in my heart always, and I remain forever grateful for having her as my next- door neighbor. Marcia Jones

Jo Ann was a very special lady! She was always so sweet and personable to me during my teenage years. Although I had not seen her recently she did text me periodically with such kind and loving sentiments. My prayers are with all of her family, may her spirit live on in each of you.
