George Arthur Homeyer, 91, of Raleigh, NC peacefully passed away at his home during the early morning of January 21, 2023. He was born in Jersey City, NJ, on November 15, 1931, son of the late George and Mildred Homeyer.

George grew up in Jersey City and after attending school he served in the US Army during the Korean War and was stationed at West Point, NY, 1951-1953. He had a lifelong career as an Electrician and was a Seventy Year Member of Local 400, International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers. He also had a history with the Masons, Philo Lodge No. 243, in South River, NJ. George was honorably designated Worshipful Master in 1982 and appointed Grand Chaplain of the 27th Masonic District for the State of NJ 1991-1992.

George married Lorraine Kuzniar on November 17, 1951 and lived in East Brunswick, NJ until they retired to South Carolina. They were married for 63 years before she passed away on August 28, 2014. They both enjoyed a lifetime of golfing and a favorite memory was their golf trip to Scotland with their son George and daughter in law Kathy and friends. George also loved to watch the Giants and the Mets and he enjoyed going out to dinner. He moved to Raleigh five years ago to be closer to his daughter and they spent most of their time exploring all types of restaurants.

George was preceded in death by his wife, his parents and his two brothers, William and Richard Homeyer.

He is survived by his son, George A. Homeyer Jr., and his wife Kathy of Bradley Beach, NJ and daughter Laura Homeyer Smith and her husband Frank of Raleigh. His sister Grace Pagan resides in Sumter, SC.
