Gary Von White, 77, went to be with his Lord and Savior on March 28th, 2024 after a short illness.

He was born January 3rd, 1947 to the late Albert Otto White and Josephine Groce White. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his brothers, Jimmy White and Kenneth White. Surviving are his wife of 56 years, Carolyn Wall White and son Matthew (Sarah) White.

Gary was a humble man that put his faith and family above all else. He spent 35 years working with Yadkin Valley Telephone before retiring in 2003. Outside of work during those years, Gary enjoyed fishing, playing basketball, and spending time with his family and friends. He was a loyal Dallas Cowboys fan and had the chance to attend several games throughout his life. Alongside the Cowboys, Gary enjoyed watching Wake Forest and UNC compete in both basketball and football. After moving to Raleigh, Gary found what he considered a second family at Providence Baptist Church. Gary also cherished spending time with his three grand dogs Deacon, Kenan, and Teddy.

A memorial service for the family will be held at a later date at Providence Baptist Church. The family would like to thank REX Hospital’s ICU team for all the love and care shown to Gary.
