Gale Norman "Herb" Boswell, age 89, passed away peacefully at his home on December 22, 2025, in Raleigh, North Carolina.

Born on August 21, 1936, in San Antonio, Texas, Herb graduated from St. Edward’s High School in Austin and The University of Texas at Austin, where he developed a lifelong loyalty to the Longhorns.

His most rewarding professional work was with the United States Chamber of Commerce at the Dallas district office. There, he served a broad territory of clients with dedication and integrity, reflecting his deep commitment to service and community engagement.

He shared 57 years of marriage with his beloved wife, Suzanne Larson Boswell. Their life together was filled with travel, shared adventures and enduring companionship.

Relationships with close family members were cherished, including his sister-in-law Mary Marlene Salisbury Boswell; niece Mary Dail Boswell Straver and her husband Kenneth, along with their children Mary Rachael Straver and Benjamin Kees Straver; niece Debbie Boswell Grimes and her husband Jimmy Grimes; and sister-in-law Jean Larson Corcoran and her children Brian Corcoran, John Corcoran, and Sarah Corcoran.

He was preceded in death by his identical twin brother, Dale Armond Boswell; brothers, James Allen Boswell and James Price Boswell Jr.; sister-in-law, Joanne Boswell; and sons, Perry Wilson and Paul Wilson.

Herb had a lifelong passion for sports. He especially loved The University of Texas football games. An avid runner in his youth, he also played tennis for many years. Sailing was his greatest joy—he raced on Lakes Grapevine and Texoma and cruised the Texas Gulf Coast. With Suzanne, he chartered yachts in the Caribbean and traveled extensively across Europe, Western Asia, South America, Central America and beyond. Their travels provided many adventures and special memories.
