Doris Yeo Woon Seng my fourth sister in the family of 5 sisters and 6 brothers in which she is number 10 among the siblings. She was born Muar in the most harrowing times of Japanese occupation of Malaya and Singapore from 1941 to September, 1945. Mother couldn't breast feed her due to lack of lactation resulting from un-nutritious poor diet. So Woon Seng was fed with watery rice gruel and occasional goat's milk bought from an Indian goat farmer. In November 1945 after the Japanese surrender our family moved back to Singapore. Doris Yeo Woon Seng was a very loving, affable, amiable and convivial person not only to the family but also to all her friends and acquaintances. She was always very cheerful and her presence around everywhere she went always exudes joy and happiness. She was also a good pianist. The family would always gather around the piano while she played the Christmas songs and hymnals or popular songs and everyone would sing along her piano pieces with gusto. Those years from the 1950s to late 1960s were the happiest family years. Doris Yeo Woon Seng was also very kind and thoughtful. She and Paul Hang took leave to drive down to Singapore to attend my wedding and wedding dinner on the 12th of April, 2069. The next day, 13th April, she and Paul drove me and my wife to KL where we stayed in their apartment for the night. The next morning 14th April, they helped us to charter a private taxi to take us to Penang for our simple honeymoon. Though Doris may have passed on, she will always be fondly loved and cherished in our hearts and minds. Her strong Christian faith elevates her from feeling the pains of her sickness and I believe she had gone to the heavenly world with calmness and peace of mind. Lovingly, Fifth brother and number 8 in the family. YEO ENG LAM. Sunday, 20th November, 2022.

Aunty Doris my dearest Si Yee is a God-sent angel always praying and caring for me and for the eternal life of those not yet saved. In 2011, when my late husband was diagnosed with terminal cancer. He did not inform any of his relatives in Singapore, but choose to call his aunt in the US. I always remembered the look of peace when he put down the phone and tell me " I told my Si Yee about my condition. She is praying for me". This loving aunty not only prayed for him remotely. She flew 10,000 miles to Singapore to nurse and prayed earnestly for my husband every day for more than a month. I am also grateful for the love and care she shower on me all these years. Like a mother, she checked on me frequently via call then in 2011, and later via WhatsApp. Wanted so much to celebrate Christmas with you, to cook, to bake with you this year. But God has his plan for you. I can imagine you and Beng Hian cooking and baking now in heaven, happy and painless. May you rest in peace.

I remember aunt Doris when she came back to Singapore years ago. I was working very hard and had a bad back. She and uncle Paul visited me and my new-born son in my new home and prayed over me. She wanted to alleviate me from suffering. I will always remember Aunt Doris as a beautiful kind person who cares a lot about us and our souls. So dear aunty, may you find peace and comfort in the arms of your Maker... I was hoping to see you once more next month... will miss you and I'll see you in my heart.
