Deborah Ann "Debbie" Walker
Deborah Ann “Debbie” Walker, 74, of Rolesville, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 20, 2026. She was born on May 11, 1951, in Waterloo, Indiana, to the late Russell Wayne Badman and Pauline Margarite Buchs Badman.
Debbie was a woman of profound dedication — a devoted wife, mother, sister, and friend whose fierce loyalty made her a constant pillar of support for all who knew her. A person of deep Christian faith, she was resolute in her beliefs and found great comfort in God’s presence, particularly at the family’s mountain home, where she said she felt especially close to Him.
Her greatest joy was found in her cherished role as “Nanny” to her five granddaughters: Savannah, Sadie, Zoe, Harper, and Layla. Whether cheering them on from the sidelines or simply showering them with love and affection, Debbie treasured every moment spent building memories that will last a lifetime.
A graduate of Indiana University who quickly became a proud Tar Heel fan, Debbie had been an athlete in high school and retained her love of sports throughout her life. She had a wonderful eye for décor and genuinely loved the art of decorating. Professionally, she worked as a commercial claims adjuster in construction insurance — though she always said she waited far too long to retire, and she embraced every day of it with joy.
Debbie and her beloved husband Bill shared a deep love of adventure and travel, exploring destinations across the United States and abroad. Among her most treasured memories were their trips to Napa Valley and Tuscany. She loved both the mountains and the beach, drawing peace and renewal from each. Bill’s soulmate and the love of his life, Debbie leaves behind a legacy of love that will forever echo in the hearts of all who knew her. Her presence was a comfort, her spirit a joy, and her memory a treasured blessing.
She is survived by:
Her husband, William “Bill” Walker; her son, Adam Harold, his wife Lauren, and their daughters Zoe and Layla; her daughter, Lauren Hunnings, her husband Brad, and their daughters Savannah, Sadie, and Harper; her stepson, Reade Walker, his wife Audra, and their children Grayson and Sam; her sister, Becky Bowman, and her husband Tim; her brother, Rex Badman; and her best friend of more than 20 years and beloved “sister,” Kim Allen.
