Bobby Ray Summers Jr.
Bobby grew up in Bonfield, Illinois, and he enjoyed small-town, country living for many years. Later in life, he and his wife moved to North Carolina, where he passed away after a long and difficult journey following a major, life-changing surgery.
Bobby was a kind, caring, and thoughtful man with a silly nature and a wonderful sense of humor. He always tried to make those around him smile and would often make a joke, even when he was feeling unwell, just to lighten the mood or get a laugh. He faced more than his share of challenges, but through it all, he showed an incredible amount of bravery, resilience, and strength. Bobby often liked to say, “God only gives the toughest battles to the strongest warriors,” a saying that reflected the strength and determination he carried with him throughout his journey. He was one of a kind and deeply loved, and his absence leaves a space that can never truly be filled.
Bobby had his own painting company for several years, which he took great pride in and was very skilled at. He was passionate about many things, but he especially enjoyed iRacing, playing guitar, golfing, and 3D printing, all of which brought him happiness and made his life a little brighter. He loved sitting outside playing his guitar or playing around a bonfire with friends. He was always excited and proud when he won a virtual race and was constantly looking for things he could 3D print for his friends and family. Bobby was also an avid sports fan who loved watching UFC, NASCAR, golf, and all of the Chicago sports teams, but he especially loved the Chicago Cubs. The excitement and emotion he expressed when the Cubs won the World Series is unforgettable. Bobby also shared a close bond with his beloved dog, Buddy, who always held a special place in his heart.
Bobby shared 25 years of his life with his wife, Angela Summers, whom he leaves behind, along with his parents, Bobby Summers, Sr. and Diane; his sister, Tammy Jensen; her husband, Ricky Jensen; and his niece, Alexis.
In keeping with Bobby’s wishes, he will be cremated following a private viewing for immediate family
Condolences
