Winifred Mary Turner passed away peacefully at Hospice of Wake County on Saturday, October 13, 2012. A native of New York City and a graduate of St. Joseph's College, Brooklyn, NY, she later resided on Long Island and in Naples, FL. She was preceded in death by her parents Patrick and Delia Comer of New York; her brothers Bartholomew Comer, MD, of San Diego, CA and William Comer of Seaford, NY; and her son James IV of Freeport, ME. She is survived by James L Turner, her beloved husband of 65 years; her six children: Patricia McGlynn of Raleigh, NC; Margaret Turner of Richmond, VA; Bartholomew Turner of Charlotte, NC; Winifred Coco of Hillsborough, NJ; Joann Thomas of Jacksonville, FL; Robert Turner of Ramsey, NJ; 16 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. The family would like to express its sincere gratitude to Hospice of Wake County for their caring and compassion, especially Mrs. Turner's nurse Charlotte Hesterberg.
