With heavy hearts we announce the passing of Mrs. Virginia McDonald of Raleigh, NC, a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She peacefully left us at the age of 97 on November 4, 2023. She was the daughter of the late Vernon T. Lynn and Lois W. Lynn. Virginia was born July 12, 1926, and her life was a testament to love, resilience, and family.

Virginia shared 67 years of unwavering commitment with her late husband, Hersheal G. McDonald. She was preceded in death by her grandson, Ryan Wall. Virginia is survived by her five adoring children; Gwendolyn Wall (Marion), Hersheal McDonald Jr. (Shelby), David McDonald (Shelia), Gary McDonald, and Dwight McDonald. In addition to being a wife and loving mother, her legacy also lives on through her eight grandchildren and seven great- grandchildren, and leaves behind a tapestry of cherished memories that will continue to warm their hearts.

Viriginia McDonald's memory will forever be treasured. She was known for her kindness, her generosity, and her warm spirit. Her home was a sanctuary of love and comfort for family and friends alike.

Visitation will be at Renaissance Funeral Home at 11:00am on November 8, 2023, with a funeral service to follow at 12 noon. A short graveside service will be held at Raleigh Memorial Park immediately after the funeral service.
