Lit a candle in memory of Vann Stewart Johnson

Vann and I started knowing each other and working together in the late 1970s after he, Sandra, and Scott came back from California. We worked together closely for over thirty years; and he was a positve influence in my life, and the lives of evetyone he touched. He was a great guy, buddy, and good friend. He was FAMILY! The news of his passing from Bev and Joyce has hit hard! My prayers are with his family, especially Sandra, Scott, and Tanya, but also his extended family, brothers and sisters at CAI. I was saddened to learn of Vann's death. He was delightful--loved the photo which absolutely personifies him. So Sorry Sandy and Family. Great Memories of Vann and his Family growing up in Rose Hill NC. We in first Grade and scouting together thru graduation WRH Class of 1965. So Glad Vann was at our WRH 50th Reunion in 2015 because I had not seen him since graduation. Same Great Guy and Super Personality. He will be missed but in God's Hands now. I just came across this obituary, two years after the fact. I have very fond memories of Vann from our time together in the Navy. We were on the same P3 flight crew in 1972-73. Vann was my closest friend during those years. I so appreciated his sincerity, caring, and willingness to talk about what was really going on inside. It was very rare in those days. Vann and I played romantic interests in the Senior Play "Carousel". He was so kind to me when I fell when he was throwing me over his shoulder. He never told anyone that we had that accident. I always thought he was a wonderful person and enjoyed doing the play with him. So sorry for your loss. Linda Evans Wells
