Timothy Hughes Boyd, 57, of Marco Island, FL, died on Sunday, October 6, 2019 after suffering complications from a stroke. He was born on October 29, 1961 in Haverhill, MA and raised in Georgetown, MA, son of John R. Boyd and the late Carolyn Boyd.

Tim also known as “Timmy”, “Moose”, and “Timbo” went to Georgetown High School where he played "Tevye" in Fidler on The Roof and "the Captain" in the Sound of Music. In addition to his love for singing and entertaining, he also shined on the athletic field as a Captain of the football team and a wrestler for the Georgetown Royals. As the second youngest of five, Tim had a beautiful relationship with all his siblings. They would spend summers at Mousem Lake playing cards, boating, and eating plenty of lobster and steamers.

Following high school, Tim went to Bridgton Academy and then on to UMASS-Amherst where he played defensive line for the Minutemen football team. A connection that would come back around 30 years later when his daughter would attend UMass.

Following college, Tim met Michelle Niemyjski, they were married for almost 20 years and had Garrett and Kirsten. His children truly were the light of his life. He was happiest when they spent time together.

In the last 6 years, Tim founded a pet merchandise company with his partner, Ellen Bass and rightfully named it "Bampz" after his father. They had their dream home and boat in Marco Island, Florida; where he had his bar and could entertain all his friends and family. One of the most special times for him there was building the 20 x 20 deck with his dad. Tim had a zest for life like no other, he knew how to live and enjoy each moment. He traveled the world and made friends everywhere he went. He was “Everybody’s” best friend.

He is survived by his son, Garrett Boyd and daughter in-law, Jenna Boyd; his daughter, Kirsten Boyd and future son in-law, Brett Crannell; his sister, Brenda Boyd Lacy and brother in-law Sam Lacy; his brother, Daryl Boyd; his brother, David Boyd and sister in-law, Toby Boyd; his brother, Tom Boyd and sister in-law, Kristine Boyd; his nephews: Matthew Tuney, Derek Boyd; and niece, and god-daughter Jaclyn Barker, his nieces: Christina Barrett, Erika Boyd, and Karla Boyd.

A Viewing will begin at 10:00 a.m. with a Funeral Service immediately following at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 12, 2019 at Renaissance Funeral Home, 7615 Six Forks Road, Raleigh, NC 27615. The burial to follow the service at Historic Oakwood Cemetery. Family and friends are welcome to gather at Hibernian Pub, 311 Glenwood Ave, directly after the burial.

Additionally, on Saturday, October 26, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. the family will have a celebration of life for Tim at The Flatbread Company, 258 Andover Street, Georgetown, MA. We hope to see everyone there to celebrate this larger than life man.
