Obituary For Thomas Toburn Rollinson

Thomas Toburn Rollinson died peacefully in his sleep on January 26, 2011. He was born in Yonkers, N.Y. on February 16, 1919, to Thomas Samuel and Alice Toburn Rollinson. A graduate of Gorton High School, Tom served as a first lieutenant in the U.S. Army in WWII. He received his Bachelor and Masters degrees from Cornell University. Affectionately known as ââ?¬Å?Bumpyââ?¬Â?, and later to his 11 grandchildren and friends as ââ?¬Å?T.T.ââ?¬Â?, he married Anne Mary Mack in 1953, and for the majority of his working life was an accountant.

Thomas loved watching theater (especially in London, England), listening to broadway music, playing Bridge (among many other card games), traveling, and his family.

A memorial service is to be held on January 28, 2011 at 5 p.m. at Renaissance Funeral Home in Raleigh, NC. He is survived by: his sister Ruthalys (ââ?¬Å?Pidgeââ?¬Â?) McCormick, of Hudson, FL; his six children ââ?¬â??Keith Rollinson, of West Linn, OR; Kim Zinsser, of Hopewell Junction, NY; Leigh Rollinson, of Easthampton, MA; Craig Rollinson, of Estero, FL; Lynne Brid, of Raleigh, NC; Jill Rollinson, of Raleigh, N.C.; and eleven grandchildren.
