Obituary For Terry Christopher Rodabaugh

Mr. Terry Christopher Rodabaugh passed away on 4/17/2024 at the age of 87. Mr. Rodabaugh was a resident of Raleigh, NC for over 40 years. Prior to living in Raleigh, he lived in Fort Wayne, IN, Lincoln, NE, and several towns in Iowa.

He was born in Fort Madison, Iowa to the late Harry W. Rodabaugh and Lucile Cooper Rodabaugh on 4/15/1937. He attended St. Mary’s Catholic High School in Fort Madison. Mr. Rodabaugh served in the US Army and was stationed in Hawaii. After starting a family with his late wife Peggy Joyce (Spiekermeier) Rodabaugh, he attended The University of Iowa, earning a bachelor’s degree in business administration, while working full time in a tool and die shop and supporting a wife and 3 small children. During their marriage, he and Peggy traveled the world, his favorite trip being a tour of Egypt and the pyramids. Peggy passed away on 7/8/2010 after 48 years of marriage.

Mr. Rodabaugh is survived by (4) sisters, Diane Murphy of Omaha, NE, Rosalind Davis of Prescott, AZ, Kathy (Bill) Grupy of Burlington, IA and Connie (Jim) Scott of Omaha, his (3) children, Perry Krogmeier, Dr. Kerry (Dr. James Schwarz) Rodabaugh of Omaha, and Kyle (Anneliese) Rodabaugh of Raleigh and (6) grandchildren, Cory (Nicole) Krogmeier, Alexander McKeithan, Kendall (Eric Katz) Schwarz, Katie Krogmeier, Thomas Schwarz and Koen Rodabaugh. In addition, he is survived by his longtime close friend, Judy Stalls.

Mr. Rodabaugh had a long and successful career, spending the majority of it with Square D Company. He progressed through the ranks and served as Human Resource Manager, Plant Manager and Corporate Human Resource Director. After retiring from Square D, he worked for Job Corps as Human Resource Director.

Mr. Rodabaugh was an active member of the Raleigh Elks Lodge Chapter. He served in many capacities from coordinating and running Bingo night, to coordinating events and donations with the local VA to serving as the Exalted Ruler. He was a fixture for many decades in the lodge. He was a founding member of St. Luke the Evangelist Catholic Church and a long- time member of the choir where he sang bass.

He will be missed by his children, sisters and extended family as well as many friends and neighbors whose lives he touched in some way. He was known for his deep voice and kind gentlemanly manner.

A funeral mass will be held at St. Luke the Evangelist Catholic Church June 1, 2024 at 1pm, reception at the church to follow. Family and friends welcome.
