Obituary For Stephen Arthur Misencik
Stephen A. Misencik, 66, went to his heavenly home on June 11th, 2024, in Raleigh, NC.
He was born in Boston, MA, to the late John and Barbara Misencik and was the eldest boy of eight children.
While attending high school in North Olmsted, Ohio, he received numerous track and field and basketball awards. Upon graduating, he attended Cleveland State University where he studied Mechanical Engineering. In 1976 he enlisted in the Air Force as a Security Forces Specialist and Small Arms Expert where he served for four years.
After his honorable discharge, he received his accreditations in Composite Design from Stanford University and was a top expert in his field. Stephen went on to accomplish many notable projects, including Disney’s Tree of Life, Test Track, Mission Space, and currently holds six US patents.
As an Electrical Marine Technician, he had a passion for boats and was an avid New England sports fan. While working at Boston Whaler, he met his wife, Kathy, of thirty-six years. He was saved by grace through faith in 1986, and spent the remainder of his life putting others before himself.
He enjoyed fishing on the shores of the Outer Banks, watching the Red Sox, and most of all, being a father. Stephen’s love for his family was boundless. He poured his heart into nurturing and guiding his daughters, leaving an enduring impact on their lives.
Stephen was a hard-working man of great intellect and wisdom. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends. Stephen is survived by his wife, Kathy (Rusconi), and daughters Jaclyn (Dan) Lombardi and Jamie Lee Misencik.
To commemorate his blessed life and the memories we cherish, a memorial service will be held at Renaissance Funeral Home, on Tuesday, June 18th at 1:00 pm. Immediately following the service, a celebration of life will be held at Compass Rose.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to KidneyCAN.
“Most assuredly, I say to you, he who hears My word and believes in Him who sent Me has everlasting life, and shall not come into judgment, but has passed from death into life.” John 5:24
