Obituary For Stephen Arthur Misencik

Stephen A. Misencik, 66, went to his heavenly home on June 11th, 2024, in Raleigh, NC.

He was born in Boston, MA, to the late John and Barbara Misencik and was the eldest boy of eight children.

While attending high school in North Olmsted, Ohio, he received numerous track and field and basketball awards. Upon graduating, he attended Cleveland State University where he studied Mechanical Engineering. In 1976 he enlisted in the Air Force as a Security Forces Specialist and Small Arms Expert where he served for four years.

After his honorable discharge, he received his accreditations in Composite Design from Stanford University and was a top expert in his field. Stephen went on to accomplish many notable projects, including Disney’s Tree of Life, Test Track, Mission Space, and currently holds six US patents.

As an Electrical Marine Technician, he had a passion for boats and was an avid New England sports fan. While working at Boston Whaler, he met his wife, Kathy, of thirty-six years. He was saved by grace through faith in 1986, and spent the remainder of his life putting others before himself.

He enjoyed fishing on the shores of the Outer Banks, watching the Red Sox, and most of all, being a father. Stephen’s love for his family was boundless. He poured his heart into nurturing and guiding his daughters, leaving an enduring impact on their lives.

Stephen was a hard-working man of great intellect and wisdom. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends. Stephen is survived by his wife, Kathy (Rusconi), and daughters Jaclyn (Dan) Lombardi and Jamie Lee Misencik.

To commemorate his blessed life and the memories we cherish, a memorial service will be held at Renaissance Funeral Home, on Tuesday, June 18th at 1:00 pm. Immediately following the service, a celebration of life will be held at Compass Rose.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to KidneyCAN.

“Most assuredly, I say to you, he who hears My word and believes in Him who sent Me has everlasting life, and shall not come into judgment, but has passed from death into life.” John 5:24

I remember Steve fondly, as well as his siblings and parents and have such great memories of our many summers spent playing (and getting bitten by mosquitos!) together at Meme and Pepe's home in Bolton MA. Getting out families together was always the highlight of our summer. I am so sorry to hear of Steve's passing and hold the entire Misencik family in my thoughts and prayers. Nancy Bonazzoli

My condolences to Kathy and the girls. Stephen was a pleasure to know and work with. He was a great mentor to me during my time with METYX. He doted on his girls and his wife often. He will be missed.

My cousin Steve was one of my favs as out of 15 cousins on the Misencik side of the family as we were the same age!!! We spent many Sundays together growing up and will never forget the horseback trail riding down the valley with our dads!!! Memorial Day was one of my favorite holidays as we would meet our cousins at Bradley Woods for breakfast and a great game of baseball before lunch!! Although we kind of lost touch as the years passed by it has been great getting to know Kathy and his beautiful daughters through facebook! He will be missed; so until the big family reunion in heaven he will hold a special place in my heart ❤️!

Being so much younger than Stephen, I don't have a lot of family memories with him. However, I do recall how warm and welcoming both he and Kathy were back in the 90's to have me and my then boyfriend celebrate Thanksgiving with their family at their home outside of Boston. Such a warm and genuine gesture. Seeing him in his element gave me a perspective I did not know. RIP Stephen. See you on the other side. ❤️❤️

Stephen had an enormous heart, was extremely intelligent, and willing to help. So happy to have had the opportunity to spend time with Stephen and your family in your home on our way south back in March of 2022. Know his presence in our lives was impactful. He was a true family man through and through. In addition, he assisted in caring for his mother-in-law,Kay. A true gem to be caring as he was. May Stephen Rest in Peace. He suffers no more. God Bless you Kathy and your family as the days and months move on from this difficult time . . His memory will remain. Love, Joe and Mary
