Obituary For Stancil R Moody
Buddy was born at Moody's Air Force Base in Valdosta, GA on November 5, 1955. He spent his early years with family in Roanoke Rapids but spent most of his life in and around Raleigh. He attended Needham Broughton High from 1970-1972 and worked various jobs in property maintenance in many communities in the area until he began working in publication distribution for local publications such as The Independent, Natural Awakenings, Carolina Parent, Health & Healing, & JobFinder just to name a few. Buddy made friends wherever he went - with anyone he met. He loved playing guitars, fishing, NASCAR and family.
He is survived by his son, Cody of the home; daughters & son of Ohio, Whitney Huxel (John), Starr Moody & Tyler Lee Moody; grandson, Blake Huxel; parents, Stancil & Marion Moody of Raleigh NC; sisters, Sheena Ward (Jerry) of Raleigh & Angie Daniels (Don) of Cary; four nephews, Dallas Daniels (Kristie), Justin Ward, Christopher Ward & Connor Ward, one niece Lauren Ward Williamson (Adam) & too many friends to name. . A memorial service will be held on Friday, Nov 2, 2012 at 7:00PM at Lifepointe Church West, 4131 Western Blvd, Raleigh. Graveside services will be held Saturday, Nov 3, 2012 at 1:00PM Cedarwood Cemetery, 224 Kemp Ave (off West 5th St), Roanoke Rapids.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to The Tammy Lynn Center for Developmental Disabilities (www.tammylynncenter.org). Buddy's youngest son Cody has Cerebral Palsy and spends summers at the day camp at Tammy Lynn. This center is near and dear to the family.
