I also had the good fortune of working for Stan at the Office of the State Auditor. Stan was one of the smartest people I have ever met. He understood things about our profession, statistics (one of his favorite topics), and life in general than most people ever do. He was a good friend and teacher and never hesitated to spend the time it took to help anyone understand any situation. He will be sorely missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. I am certainly among them. Our prayers are with his family at this difficult time.

The Bible says that there is "a time to weep."(Ecclesiastes 3:1,4) Avoid isolating yourself. (Proverbs 18:1) Remain calm if someone says painful words. "Do not take to heart every word that people say." (Ecclesiastes 7:21) Learn the truth about the condition of the dead. "At Ecclesiastes 9:5, the Bible shows that the dead are not suffering, and that fact gives me an inner peace. The Bible also teaches that is going to be a resurrection and that those who are dead will be brought back to life. (Acts 24:15). Did you know? The Bible promises a time when God "will swallow up death forever." (Isaiah 25:8)

I was so glad to see Stan at our last class reunion. He attended school in Plymouth and we were good friends. Stan was the same every time you saw him. I will always remember him as a great guy. A friend Jimmy Hardison

Stan Wesner was my friend, mentor and long time manager at the OSA. Working with Stan was a challenge because he always made you think and that was a good thing. Stan was a caring man who always wanted to make you a better person as well as employee. I will miss Stan so very much. As usual I am sad because I did not reach out to speak with Stan more during his retirement. Stan will be sorely missed but I know he has transitioned to a holy place where he will be reunited with some of his former co-workers that have passed before him. My sincere condolences to his wife and two sons - may God be with you in your time of need.

When I first went to work at the Office of State Auditor, Stan was the Director of the CETA division and who I first worked for. Later in my career, I ended up working with him on other jobs and tasks. He always came across tough but had a great sense of humor and enjoyed the challenges we faced everyday. I would like to say working for Stan got me off to a great foundation that led to a very successful career and I am thankful for that. He also always attended all of Joy Brother golf tournament functions and loved keeping up with the "old dogs" from the office. I will miss seeing him around. But I hope he catches up with my and his old buddy John Canady and they catch-up on the laughs of a lifetime. My thoughts and prayers to the family. Stan was a good guy!

I've been blessed to have known Stan through the Legion of Mary. And the Legion of Mary has been especially blessed and enriched to have Stan as a member. I appreciated his extensive knowledge of our faith and insight in our weekly readings. I also appreciated the joy he radiated, his humor, his huge welcoming smile. I saw that our friends in the retirement home ministry works enjoyed his company too. And even though he was ill himself, I'll never forget his selfless kindness in visiting me a few months ago while I've additionally battled a long-term illness. I pray I can be more like Stan, more courageous when facing adversity, more active in times of suffering, and more positive at all times, as I always saw him to be. Stan was an exemplary role model and a good man. I will most certainly miss him. May Our Lord bring comfort to your family, and may He welcome Stan with arms wide open. Stan will be greatly missed but He has already given us enough joyous memories that would last a life time.. one of the very few people who has created an impression on my life. Stan taught us how to look beyond this life by fixing his eye's on the Lord accepting his cup with a beautiful smile. Stan can now proudly say 'I have fought a good fight, I have finished the race and I have remained faithful'.
