Obituary For Solomon Gomes

Mr. Solomon Gomes, 68, of Garner, North Carolina peacefully passed away on April 15, 2021.

He was the son of John Gomes Khan and Magdalene Gomes. Solomon was born March 20, 1953 in Dhaka, Bangladesh. He attended Nagari St. Nicholas High School and was a graduate of Dhaka University. Solomon worked as an aircraft mechanic for Kuwait Airways, as well as in customer service sales and the restaurant industry. He loved soccer and shot put. Solomon was a member of the Knights of Columbus.

He was married to Josephine R. Gomes on February 20, 1977 and they were blessed with three children. His daughter, Jenny Gomes, preceded him in death in July of 1987. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Jostna Gomes.

Solomon is survived and forever cherished by his loving wife, Josephine; children, son, Leroy John Gomes (Agatha L. Gomes); daughter, Lauren M. Gomes Atwood (Ethan Atwood); grandchildren, Ava, Elijah, and Ella Josephine; and brothers and sisters, Ajoy Dominic, Rupali, Agnes, Antony, and Desmond.

Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 17, 2021 at Renaissance Funeral Home. A Viewing and Visitation will be held beginning at 10:00a.m. prior to the service. After the service the Graveside will occur at Raleigh Memorial Park. ***Masks will be required during the Viewing, Service, and Graveside.
