Obituary For Scott Murray McCrary

On August 14, 2015, Scott Murray McCrary, beloved husband of Darlene McCrary, passed away suddenly in Raleigh, North Carolina. Born on August 22, 1963 in Washington, DC, Scott grew up in Rockville, MD. He was the youngest of four children and the only grandson of Frances and Edith Murray. His family and friends will remember him as a devoted husband, loving father, beloved son, and wonderful brother.

Scott was the founder and CEO of Greystone Development Group, an award-winning residential and commercial real estate development firm in Raleigh, North Carolina. No one will ever replace him in our hearts, but we take comfort in the fact that God has summoned Scott to be with his mother Carol Brooks and his sister Debbie Goodman both of whom predeceased him. In addition to his wife, Darlene, Scott is survived by his daughter Caitlin, son Austin and their mother Kelly McCrary. He is also survived by his father Ray McCrary, his sister Sharon Oliver and her husband Geoffrey, his sister Robin Rooney and her husband John, his brother-in-law Michael Goodman, his sister-in-law Cheryl Small, his sister-in-law Vanessa Fuller, his brother-in-law Allan Lee and wife Gidget, and his 10 nieces and nephews.

Services will be held on Wednesday, August 19, 2015 at 3pm at Asbury United Methodist Church, 6612 Creedmoor Road, Raleigh, NC, 27613. A reception will immediately follow at North Ridge Country Club, 6612 Falls of Neuse Road, Raleigh, NC 27615.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to either Susan G. Komen for the Cure at www.info-komen.org or Miracle League of the Triangle at www.miracleleagueofthetriangle.com.

This comes as a shock to the McCrary side of the family as we have learned late. Ray, his father just has learned and would love to know the details of this to put his mind at ease. As his long lost Uncle I can say I know he is in a much better place right now as I remember him as a real good loving person.
