Obituary For Sally Lynn Bowman

Sally Lynn Bowman, 63, residing in Raleigh, North Carolina, passed away on April 12, 2023.

Sally, born on May 31, 1959, grew up in Churchbridge, Saskatchewan, on her family farm with her parents, Paul and Janet Scholz, and her four siblings. She graduated from the University of Saskatchewan with a Bacheolors of Science in Home Ecomonics with Great Distinction. It is there that she met her husband of 42 years, Roger Bowman. Together they had two daughters. Sally was a wonderful homemaker and mother, always enjoying gardening, reading, playing cards, volunteering at St. Philip Lutheran Church, and at the various schools and activities her daughters attended. Sally always loved music; she sang in choirs from high school to the St. Philip choir and handbells until recent years.

She is survived by her husband, Roger, daughters Chantal (Ben) Cleveland of West Des Moines, Iowa; Natalie Bowman (Grant Alexander) of Pittsboro, North Carolina; grandchildren Adeline and Henry Cleveland; siblings Al Scholz, Jamie (Janet) Scholz, Susan (Al) Johnston, and Murray Scholz; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and many friends that become family.

Sally will be committed to the Lord on April 18, 2023, at St. Philip Lutheran Church at 1pm and laid to rest in the St. Philip Memorial Garden. All are welcome to attend her celebration of life. Sally’s request was always that her funeral be full of color, joy, and happiness.

I was very sad to hear the news about Sally. We first met at Provincial 4-H Selections when we were 16 (and travelled on the same trip to Vancouver). We were also classmates in Home Ec at the U of S. Sally was a dynamic, determined go-getter, and I will always remember her laugh and outgoing nature. My heart goes out to you all. May happy memories help you through this very difficult time.

Roger, Chantal and Natalie - We are deeply saddened to hear of Sally's passing. She will be fondly remembered by her Eastern cousins from Ontario. No matter how busy she was with her chores, Sally always took the time to take us horseback riding, play with us in the doll house, give us piano lessons, and play croquet. Our yearly visits were always special. God love you all, Karen, Jodie and Uncle Lloyd
