Rose-Marie Wilcher, 63, of Raleigh, NC passed away on February 28, 2020. She was born May 27, 1956 to Otho “Sonny” Hicks and Shirley Hicks in Henderson, NC.

​She graduated from Menchville High School class of 1974 in Newport News, VA and then Chowan College in North Carolina. She had a wonderful career as a social worker in both Newport News, VA and Wake County, NC.

​Rose-Marie enjoyed a beautiful marriage of 15 years to her husband, Irvin Wilcher. Making friends was one of Rose-Marie’s best talents. She had a compassionate spirit and her greatest love was her family. She was many things: a wife, a daughter, a sister and a mother, but her favorite was being a grandmother.

​Rose Marie was preceded in death by her mother, Shirley Hicks of Newport News, VA. She is survived by her father, Sonny Hicks of Henderson, NC; her son, Daniel Bryant of Hampton, VA; her spouse, Irvin Wilcher and his three children; and their six grandkids, Jaden Bryant, Jordan Bryant, Leo Wilcher, Enzo Wilcher, Levi Wilcher and Oliver Wilcher. She is also survived by two siblings; brother, Glenn Hicks of Yorktown, VA and her sister, Crystal Hicks of Newport News, VA; as well as her niece, nephew, cousins and friends.

​A memorial service will be held at 1:00pm on Saturday, March 7, 2020, at Renaissance Funeral Home, 7615 Six Forks Road, Raleigh, NC 27615. Family and friends are welcome to a gathering with refreshments immediately after the service.
