Mr. Robert James Mackey, 90, of Rolesville, NC and previously, Naples, FL peacefully passed away on December 17th, 2022. He was the son of Edward J. Mackey and Caroline (Kelley) Mackey. Bob was born June 19, 1932 in Medford, MA.

Bob married Rena (Orrall) Mackey in August of 1957. This union was blessed with 4 children. Rena preceded him in death on November 25th, 2009.

Bob served in the Airforce during the Korean War. He worked on the Boston shipyards for most of his working life. Bob and Rena retired to Florida in 1992 & enjoyed boating and socializing with friends and family. Bob also enjoyed working with his tractor or just putzing in the garage. He was happiest when he was sharing his knowledge with his grandkids, showing them how to do something whether it be carpentry, electrical, mechanical, or plumbing – he really was a jack of all trades Bob is preceded in death by his sons, John and William, his sisters, Ruth and June and brothers, Edward and Richard.

His life will forever be cherished in the lives of his children Patricia Mackey of Rolesville, NC and David Mackey of Lebanon, TN, and his 4 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, and a host of devoted nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
