Obituary For Robert Dale Stuckey

Mr. Robert Dale Stuckey, 74 of Raleigh, NC passed peacefully on 12/12/2024. He was the son of the late Shelby and Viola Stuckey. Robert was born 11/18/1950 in Mooreland, OK. In his life he overcame remarkable challenges including obtaining a BA in Church Recreation from SW Baptist as well as a Culinary Arts Degree.

He married Mary E. Stuckey in May 1972 and gained a mother-in-law and father in-law Mary and Jack Prince who adored their “son”. Mary and Robert were blessed with three children Viola, Karolynn and Robert L. Stuckey (Bub). Their family grew again and again with a daughter in law Erica, son in law Nathan, and three grandchildren Kalab, Charlie, and Hobson. He loved his family with a simple and unconditional love including the afore mentioned as well as three living siblings, Marvin, Larry and Shelba and his brother and sister-in-law Tammy and George.

Robert was a very hardworking man, and no job was too small. His proudest work was when he was being a servant and following the example of Christ in loving the best he could and encouraging others. He loved cruising with his wife and family, gardening, cooking with his son and grandsons, and tinkering/ fixing things with his inventive tools and ideas.

Robert’s final request was to donate his brain to science in hopes that others might learn and benefit from his challenges and he requested a modest private memorial be held with family and friends. This will take place on 12/26/2024 and in lieu of gifts they are asking donations be made to the Brain Support Network @ https://www.brainsupportnetwork.org/donate/ or to those who kindly provided comfort to him in his final days at the Hock Family Pavilion @https://www.gifts.duke.edu/dmaa?technique_code=DHORGGB1.

Mary, although I didn't have a chance to know Robert in his adult life, I certainly remember him as a little guy, he stayed with my Parents when Viola had the car accident and Marvin Lee was in the hospital. Robert was so sweet and had the big smile on his. Again my condolences and prayers for your family, Bernice Stuckey Young
