Obituary For Robert "Bob" Raymond Serino

Robert “Bob” Raymond Serino, 73, of Raleigh North Carolina died on August 17, 2021. He was born in the Bronx, New York, on August 1, 1948, the son of the late Ray and Evelyn Serino.

Bob and Linda were married on June 12, 1971, and had just celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary.

He is survived by his wife Linda and his sons Jason and Christopher who were the joy of his life. Bob was also blessed with two amazing, loving daughters (in-law), Jennifer and Hannah. Beyond a doubt, his heart was filled with immense love and pride in the gift of his grandchildren, Logan, Kate, Liliana, and Isla Frances (Frankie). His two sisters, MaryAnne and Diana were the solid and loving foundation for his life‘s journey. His brother-in-law, Kevin, was an added joy. He leaves behind nieces, nephews, cousins, and lifelong friends.

He attended Saint Phillips and James Grammar School, Cardinal Spellman High School both in the Bronx, NY, Paul Smith's College, and received a BS and Masters degrees from NC State University.

Bob enjoyed scuba diving, canoeing, wilderness camping, hiking, fishing, and many other outdoor activities. Later in life, his love for the outdoors inspired him to pick up a camera and document the beauty of the natural world.

Due to the Delta variant and Bob’s wishes, there will be no in-person memorial service. A virtual memorial is planned for later and information will be provided by text or email.

Bob was the type of person that would light up a room. His humor created deep belly laughs. His eyes always sparkled with light and love. I will always hold him in my heart as an amazing soul. Sending light and love to Linda, Jason, and Chris. Love, Courtney

To my good friend Bob, Great memories of growing up together in a wonderful neighborhood is a blessing, "Boston Post Rd" was the place. Bob was always happy with a big smile, Enjoyed our great times together. Going to the Wiccopee mountain or the church bazaar was so much fun sharing it as the "Bronx brothers". Loved and cherished, I will miss you brother. Thoughts and prayers to your family, Bob Nelson

Living across the court from the Serino family is perhaps one of the best memories of growing up in Hilside Homes. I remember vividly the day Robert was diagnosed with diabetes how scary that was. But, mostly I remember the kindness of you family and the many times I was included on family trips. Robert, you grew up as your parents with love and kindness. My heartfelt condolences to your wife Linda, your children and grandchildren, and your sisters Mary Anne and Diana and their families. I know you will be missed deeply but also that you will continue to look down on your family with much love. Most sincerely, Marilyn Fierro

To my bronx "brother " Bob, We were " Bronx brothers " growing up together in Hillside Homes apartments , and games in it's playgrounds , grade school together in the same class for 8 years with the Dominican Sisters as teachers and with punitive discipline !! You ate over my house and I ate over your house ! You had great parents and two great sisters !! It was always a pleasure to be with your family .We played in the streets together , and as we grew up we hunted together on my parent's property in Fishkill NY and stayed in touch all of our lives . Flying down to NC to see you and your lovely wife Linda was always a great joy . Bob , you will forever be in my heart and thoughts and prayers . Thank you my "brother " for all the fun and great times together !! I will dearly miss our phone conversations but I'll see you on the other side when the good Lord calls me . God bless you and your family . You are loved by me and Marguerite and my brothers Bobby and Johnny and many others . Rest easy my brother , you will always be remembered and loved . With great sadness and condolences to your family , Bill Nelson

Bob and I were best of friends since we were 5 years old, we lost touch 10 yrs later when my family moved. Several yrs ago on a computer search I found Bob and we picked up where we left off. I traveled to NC and met Bob and weekly conversations long distance has been a JOY. Bob I miss you brother, the Lord is with you and I will think of you for the rest of my life.

To my Warrior brother Robert, You were so caring to me; always looking out for his older sister ❤️ I always listened wide-eyed to your scuba diving adventures off the North Carolina coast. You loved the outdoors and had many friends at the scuba sports store in the Bronx. You loved living in the Adirondacks too when you were first married. I'm going to miss you every evening when you've called me and said " Hey, it's your brother, just checking in" ❤️ with your heavy Bronx accent! And how you loved DOO WOOP! Your favorite song was "Gloria" by the Cadillacs. You had a great voice. I am going to miss you bad. I love you forever and ever and ever ❤️❤️❤️
