It is with great sadness that the family of Robert J. Cavanagh announces his passing on October 27, 2019. Bob was born in New York on March 24, 1932 to John and Lena Cavanagh. He resided in Raleigh, NC (formerly of Oceanside, NY) until his passing. Bob served in the Marine Corps during the Korean War. Bob was a dedicated husband and father. His family was his world. He had a wonderful sense of humor and was incredibly kind. Throughout his life he made a point of doing small acts of kindness without ever seeking acknowledgement. He will be forever remembered and missed by the love of his life and wife of 66 years, Peg; his two remaining siblings, Loretta McGroary and William Cavanagh (Diane; his two daughters, Debra Ragard (Mark) and Lori Metzger (Joseph); his seven grandchildren, Nicole Portella (Nicholas), Griffin Metzger, Morgan Slavik (Christopher), Jarred Ragard, Mackenzie Metzger, Robert Metzger and Rory Metzger.
