Richard Harold Nelson, 58, of Clarksville Virginia, died of cancer on Saturday afternoon, November19, 2016.

A native of Minnesota, Richard was the son of the late Thomas Lloyd Nelson. He graduated from Western Branch High School in Chesapeake, Virginia in 1976 and worked as a Retail Manager for Advance Auto Parts for 33 years.

Richard is survived by his wife, Patricia Ann Hanbury Nelson; son Michael Andrew Nelson; son Christopher Ryan Nelson; daughter Ann Marie Nelson; daughter Elizabeth Rose Nelson; daughter Amber Lynn Nelson; mother MaryAnn Nelson; daughter-in-law Nicole Davidson Nelson; granddaughter Evelyn Paige Nelson; sister Marilynn Finn; sister Roberta Old; sister Sharon Russell; brother-in-law Bruce Russell and sister-in-law Sharon G. Nelson. He was predeceased by his daughter Nicole Michelle Nelson; sister Paula Rumler; sister Susan Stern; brother Gordon Nelson and brother Thomas Nelson Jr.

A Memorial Service will be held at 2 pm on Friday, December 2, 2016 at The Church of the Holy Innocents, 210 S Chestnut St, Henderson, NC. Coffee reception immediately following. Flowers may be sent directly to the Church.
