Obituary For Patricia Loreen Mahoney

Patricia Loreen Mahoney, formerly of Windham, NH, Salem, NH, Boston, MA, and East Islip, NY passed away suddenly on Tuesday, July 31, 2012 at the age of 49. Pat was the daughter of Sabina E. Mahoney and the late, Joseph S. Mahoney, and sister of Mike Mahoney of Fair Lawn, NJ and Therese Mahoney Sack (husband, Richard) of Tobyhanna, PA. Pat was a loving aunt to Richard Sack, Timothy Mahoney, Jonathan Mahoney, and Dennis Mahoney. She was also the loving niece of Sister Teresa Damien Weber and Sister Mary Weber of Yaphank, NY, Theresa and Tom Heffernan of Chaska, MN, and Connie Weber and the late Charles Weber of Carmel, NY. She was also a dear friend of Sister Marie Rabuse of Yaphank, NY and Pam Sutton of Bayshore, NY. Her canine companion, Gracie, will miss Pats tenderness. Pats faith was her compass to leading a caring and nurturing life, always available to help and support friends, family, strangers, and animals. Pat was active in her church as a Eucharistic Minister at St. Francis Parish Church in Raleigh, NC., and is a lay Dominican of the Order of Preachers. Although passing away early, Pat lived a full life. Throughout her life Pat was a champion for homeless animals giving generously of time and money to a variety of animal shelters and organizations. She also loved to travel the world and donated her eyes so that others can see the sights that she loved. She was an avid athlete exercising 5 days a week and competed in local triathlons. Pat obtained her Bachelor degree from Boston College and her Masters in Electrical Engineering from Northeastern University. She worked many years for Fidelity in the Massachusetts area and most recently for Fidelity in the Raleigh area. Her work in the technology field gave her a tremendous amount of creative and intellectual satisfaction, but most of all her colleagues were the reason she got up to go to work every day. A visitation will be held Friday at St. Mary's Chapel at St. Francis Catholic Church located at 11401 Leesville Rd in Raleigh from 10:30am until 11:30am with the funeral mass immediately following. She would appreciate that in lieu of flowers you would please make a donation to the SPCA of Wake County at 200 Petfinder Lane, Raleigh, NC 27603 (919) 772-2326 www.spcawake.org or COSS (Christ Our Suffering Servant), www.opraleigh.com , for projects in Africa sponsored by the Dominican Friars.

I am an employee at Fidelity and, while I did not have the pleasure of knowing Pat personally, I have certainly heard her name mentioned many times over the years. My sincere condolences to her human and canine family members. I know she will be missed.

To the Mahoney Family, I am sorry for your loss. I send my condolences to you and yours. The Bible makes it clear that God did not originally intend for humans to die. Jesus Christ himself said: "Do not marvel at this, because the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out." John 5:28&29; and also read Acts 24:15. May Jehovah God and Jesus Christ be with you and your Family?

I was heartbroken to hear about Pat. She was always a wonderful, loving and very FUN person. I deeply regret that I had not seen her in so long, you never imagine you'll lose the chance. I hope she looks down from heaven and prays for us who were left behind. My sincere condolences to her entire family.
