Eulogy from Vipul and Aparna Mankad for their dear friend, Nipun Shah Fifteen years ago, as we prepared to move to North Carolina, the most fortunate event was an introduction to Nipun and Sue Shah. We became instant friends, perhaps because we shared many values in life. We believed in sharing the joy and being there for each other during stresses in life, too. Sue has been a big part of cementing our friendship. Our routine was to go out for lunch or dinner at least once and, when possible, twice a month. We talked about our families, travel, medical problems, and occasionally financial tips, especially how to get the most out of credit card points without ever paying interest to the banks. We extracted so much out of the banks that they figured out what these two Gujarati families were doing to them. For a while, they stopped giving us the deals! We just got the pleasure of "sticking it" to them. We joined Nipun and Sue on one of their trips to Cancun. Great weather, beautiful beaches, and delicious meals at restaurants are expected in Cancun. We welcomed the New Year together. Nipun and Vipul had a good time downing one-sip Tequilla shots! Until the COVID pandemic, Nipun and Sue never missed the Navaratri Celebration at our home. Of course, Sue, the most Indianized North Carolinian, was always in her Saris. Nipun and Sue made sure we postponed our trip to Texas to attend their 50th Wedding Anniversary. It was during this memorable event that we met his entire family. Nipun was very proud of his family including grandchildren and Sue is too. The last memorable dinner was just the four of us on July 18th, 2024 to celebrate our 53rd Wedding Anniversary. His last words to us were to continue to enjoy our lives. We will certainly do that in Nipun's honor, the most generous, kind-hearted person, full of life! May his enlightened soul reach divinity, i.e., Dev Gati and Moksha. Vipul and Aparna Mankad
