On Friday, November 11, 2022, Neneh J. Roberts AKA Nikki, Nen, Nay Nay, and Nay joined the party awaiting her arrival in the Kingdom of Heaven at the tender age of 60.

A great woman, a feisty sister, the Auntie that you could get in trouble with, Party Animal Extraordinaire, Exceptional friend, and True Bad Ass if you needed one. She came booming into the world on May 14, 1962 in Petersburg, Virginia born unto Normetha and George O. Roberts, Sr.

She is survived by her fur son, Titan; sister, Alvita Roberts; sister-in-love, Laurie Wilcox; nieces, Jannelle and Racquel Roberts; nephews, Justin, Owen ‘Bryce’, and Ross Roberts.

Infamous for her sense of humor, and world renowned for her mouth. She possessed an innate ability to tell it like it is, and proficiently spoke the truth even if you couldn’t handle it, all with her notorious smirk illuminating her entire face.

Employed for years at the Smithsonian Institution’s Museum of Natural History Gift Shop, as well as, eventually The Air and Space Museum where she comfortably ran circles around most. Mastered the art of letter writing on the backside of a gift shop bag. Became the uncredited inventor of emoticons. During these years she lovingly nurtured work associations into life long friendships that grew into heart adopted extended family.

A proud and very successful limousine driver. Believing full well that her talent of thoughtful touches were an employment asset she managed to cater to her clientele the exceptional service that those that knew her well, appreciated so much.

An illustrious aficionado of Courvoisier, Durante Rum, and tropical cocktails. A passionate collector of Bulls, all things Taurus inspired, Memorable moments, and Dachshunds. Loud, funny, intelligent, helpful, caring.

She is predeceased by her furchildren, The Fellas; Nykon, Tavros ‘Tavi’, and Dante; brother, George ’Skip’, parents George O. Roberts, Sr., Normetha Roberts, grandparents, Norman B. Purnell, Marybelle Purnell, Big Neneh, many beloved cousins and plethora of friends.

There is so much more that should be said, but in the end, what she did was make our world brighter. We love and miss you.

A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, December 16,2022 at 11:00 am at Renaissance Funeral Home.

I met Nicki in 1985 in a gay club and we continued our friendship throughout the years, it was 35+ years of friendship. I will definitely miss her and reminisce of memories that we have shared together.

I attended Jr. and Sr. High school together as well and graduated together in 1980 from McKinley Tech Sr. High. In school she always had a smile on her face. We joked and laughed together all the time. She had a kind heart and was free spirited. Knowing her was truly a gift from God. Rest well my Sister and Friend. See you in the clouds.

I attended Jr. and Sr. High school with Neneh; we graduated together in 1980. She was kind of quiet at first but showed her overall kindness and silliness once we got to know her. Our main contact these last few years have been thru emails and Facebook, but I'm forever grateful that we were able to reconnect and maintain contact with each other. A true Taurus. She was a beautiful soul and she will be forever missed. Rest in Heaven, my friend! 🙏🏽
