Obituary For Millard E. Bronson
Millard E. Bronson passed away peacefully on March 30, 2015 at the age of 86 at Elmcroft Senior Living in Raleigh, NC.
Millard was born November 21, 1928 in Ava, New York, the fifth in a family of seven children. He was the son of the late Harry and Anna Bronson. After graduating high school at age 16 he joined the Merchant Marines. He later served four years in the Air Force. Following his discharge, he attended Syracuse University and graduated cum laude with a degree in Industrial Engineering.
Millard married Maxine Elliott in 1951 and they had four children. He worked in the telecommunications industry for most of his career. After retiring in 1991 from Digitech as Vice President of Operations in Ridgefield, Connecticut, he and Maxine moved to Paso Robles, California. He was a member of the Exchange Club and active in Saint James Episcopal Church in Paso Robles.
In 1997 he and Maxine moved to Raleigh, North Carolina to be near family. He was a member of the Church of Nativity in Raleigh.
He enjoyed tennis, skiing, traveling and spending time with family. Millard loved art and enjoyed painting, especially scenes from his trips abroad. He visited museums and art galleries whenever he could. He will be remembered for his generous heart, sage advice, and willingness to help those in need.
In addition to his wife, Maxine, he is survived by four children: Fred Bronson (Elena) of Durham, Debra Bronson Carter (Jim), Pamela Bronson, and Thomas Bronson (Beth) of Raleigh; eight grandchildren: Michelle Senter (Tony), Amy Bronson, Thomas Bronson, Cassandra Eckhardt, Dillon Carter (Iris), Shane Carter, Mackenzie Bronson, Damian Bronson; four great grandchildren, Courtney and Chase Senter, Dashaun Bronson, Kiarra Battle; two sisters Dolores Nichols and Faye Ferris and several nieces and nephews. Two brothers, Everett and Harold Bronson and two sisters, Phyllis Hazelton and Dorothy Delaronde, preceded him in death.
A memorial service will be held on May 2, 2015 at 11 am the Church of the Nativity, 8849 Ray Road, Raleigh, NC 27613. Online condolences can be made at www.rfhr.com, Renaissance Funeral Home, 7615 Six Forks Road, Raleigh, NC.
