Meena Paresh Patel, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on May 5, 2025, at the age of 77. Born in India on January 13, 1948, Meena’s life was a beautiful journey that spanned continents, cultures, and generations.

She built a life rooted in love, grace, and quiet strength — first in India, and later in the United States, where she lived in New Jersey, Connecticut, New York, and most recently, North Carolina. Everywhere she went, Meena brought warmth, wisdom, and her signature smile.

Meena was a devoted wife to Paresh Patel and a nurturing mother to her daughters, Meha Ballard and Sweha Patel. She found immeasurable joy in her granddaughter, Asha Ballard, who lit up her life and shared a bond beyond words.

She had a gift for caring — whether with her hands, her heart, or her home. She loved to sew and garden, creating beauty in even the smallest details. Her meals nourished the soul, always served with the insistence that no one leave hungry. And she showed up with quiet consistency for the people she loved — never loud, always steady, and endlessly kind.

A devoted fan of game shows and sports, Meena especially loved watching live games — any sport, any team — simply for the joy of it. Her enthusiasm, like her kindness, was contagious.

She will be remembered for her compassion, humility, generosity, and deep acceptance of others — qualities that rippled outward in quiet but profound ways, shaping those lucky enough to know her.

Her legacy lives on in every loving gesture, every warm meal shared, every seed planted, and in the kindness her family and friends continue to offer the world in her honor.

Please consider donating to Transitions LifeCare. Their professionalism and kindness ensured a comfortable and peaceful transition for Meena in her final days.

Pareshbhai, Hemant and other family members..... We will miss Meena for a long time. Back in India during my early school year and beyond, I saw her growing up always with a welcoming smile. When she was 3 or 4 years old, she would address me with her own name - Dupenbhai- as she had a hard time pronouncing my name correctly. It was amusing and I never objected to that. The last we saw her in Raleigh was about 6 or 7 years back. We had a delicious home cooked meal with her and Pareshbhai at their house. We talked about old days and everything else from our childhood memories in India as well as life in USA. Our prayers are with you Meena. Bhupendra and Hema

I am deeply sorry for your loss. Meenaben my eldest sibling was clearly a woman of immense strength and resilience—enduring health challenges from a young age and taking on great responsibility after losing her father so early in life. May her soul attain moksha and find eternal peace. In this time of sorrow, I pray that God gives you and your family the strength to bear this profound loss and carry forward her legacy of courage and love.

When I came in this family she was one of the person who welcome me with smile. Always tried to help me anyway possible. Always positive. Didn't spend much time with her but whatever time we spend was full of happiness. She will be always remembered.
