She was born in Camden, NJ on November 18. 1951, the daughter of the late Frank and Helen Elton. She was united in matrimony to Robert Pfeiffer in February 1973. Their union was blessed with four children. Mary and Robert had a long, loving, and respectful marriage. They loved to enjoy time in the mountains when they could.

Maryann was a wonderful mother, wife, sister, and friend who had an undeniable vibrant personality. She would light up any room she walked into, while also making new friends. She was very involved in her children’s lives. She had a passion for cooking and was always coming up with new recipes. Spending time with her kids was always the top of her list! She also enjoyed bowling and loved anything in the color purple.

My memories of Mrs. Maryann will always be held close to my heart. I'll always remember that incredibly beautiful smile that she gave us all even in the midst of enduring so much. She was so warm and welcoming, that her home was a transference of the energy she encompassed. There was this light whimsical touch that she embodied that made me feel at peace and in her surroundings. We laughed, smiled, even cut up a little, probably more than we ought to one night in particular haha but it was good fun! One night she walked up to the to the door and greeted me for the first time with the biggest smile. That smile! Untouchable! I will never forget her warmth, her kindness and her incredibly endearing spirit. Even through all she endured she could keep a smile coming with giggles. Mrs. Maryann will be greatly missed by me and I'm so grateful for the opportunity to have known her the little time I did. R.I.P, Mrs. Maryann Pheiffer, I sure hope we get to meet again!
