Obituary For Mary T. Dubois

Mary Theresa Dubois, 88, passed away Monday, December 4, 2017. Born in Worcester, MA, she moved to Raleigh in 1965 with her family. She was predeceased by her parents, her sister Loretta, and brother David. She is survived by her brothers Dan and Mike and her sisters Kathy and Betty. She also leaves behind her loving husband Donald, children Steven, Susan, Nancy, Richard, and Alan, six grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Mary was a wonderful wife and mother. She had a passion for reading and travel, both interests which her children continue today. Her love of reading led her to a job in the Sanderson High School library where she worked for many years. Upon retirement from Sanderson, she worked many years as a volunteer at Duke Raleigh hospital. Mary also enjoyed going to Kenan Stadium to watch UNC football games and she spent many evenings playing bridge with her friends and family.

Mary was an active charter member of St. Raphael Catholic Church, volunteering as a Sunday School teacher, altar guild member, and member of the parish council. She was also active in the Ladies Auxiliary of the Knights of Columbus.

A funeral mass will be held at St Raphael Catholic Church at 2:30 on Thursday December 7th. The family will have an informal visitation hour before the funeral, and a reception following the funeral. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Triangle Literacy Council.

To the Dubois family. Im so sorry about the passing of Mrs. Dubois. She was a lovely lady and wonderful neighbor. In later years, my mom always enjoyed outings with her and Mr. Dubois when they went weekly to play bridge. I have very special memories of her kindness. It is so hard to break the earthly ties with a beloved mom, and please know all of you are in my thoughts and prayers during these difficult days of adjustment and grief. Comfort, peace, and deepest sympathy, Betty Fuller
