Obituary For Marlene Siegel Rosol
Marlene Siegel Rosol, born October 29, 1950 in The Bronx, New York, deceased on February 7, 2018 following a brief illness. Daughter of the late Phyllis and Joseph Siegel, Marlene is survived by her beloved husband Phillip, twin sister Annette, five sisters-in-law, two brothers-in-law and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
A resident of Raleigh since 1992, she was active in a myriad of causes including political action, charitable fundraisers, and Hadassah, of which she was a lifetime member. An avid reader, she was an active member of two book clubs, one of which she helped to establish. As a valued member of Temple Beth Or, Marlene served as co-chair of the Membership Committee and on the Sisterhood Board, calling Beth Or her extended family. Like her beloved Beatles song "In My Life", all who knew and loved this "Woman of Valor" will long remember her striking blue eyes, infectious can-do spirit and many acts of loving kindness.
The funeral service will be held at Temple Beth Or in Raleigh on Sunday, February 11, at 2:30 PM. For memorial donations, please consider a gift to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation or to Temple Beth Or Sisterhood.

When my brother Phil married Marlene she became a sixth sister to the 5 of us Rosol sisters. You were not my sister by birth, Marlene, but you were, and always will be, the sister-of- my -heart. You loved Phil, and the Beatles, books, and baking the family cutout cookie recipe for all occasions! I will miss your joyful spirit and beautiful soul, Marleney. Rest in peace till we meet again.

Theres something strange and surreal about finding out a friend has died three months before, as I just am finding out about her death today. Ive been hearing Marlenes voice in my head a lot, especially now that the weather has become warm and yoo-mid, as she pronounced it. We became good friends back in the mid 1980s in central Florida, involved in Womens American ORT and active in the local Jewish singles group. Oh, how we would laugh together! I was at her wedding to Phil, so intimate and lovely. She actually approved of the musician I met on a singles cruise and brought home to eventually marry. When Phil and Marlene moved to Raleigh we stayed in touch with phone calls, emails, and eventually Facebook. I followed her succession of home decor ideas (whod have ever thought shed have a plaid couch? Marlene herself was incredulous.), her loveable schnauzers, and her countdown to the debut of The Beatles Channel on Sirius XM Radio. Marlene embraced life with a fierceness and fervor that I only wish I could muster. In my mind and heart we will always be young, laughing friends, and I know I will remember her every time I hear a Beatles tune. Ill miss you, Marlene.

My husband and I first met Marlene when we all worked on the Kerry/Edwards campaign in 2004. We bonded over shared political views and a love of dogs. I will remember Marlene as one of the most vital and vibrant women I have ever known. She shared herself with everyone she met and was involved in so many ways of helping others. Phil, I am so very sorry for your loss and am so sorry that the rest of us have lost a most remarkable lady. Helene Dummer

Marlene was a true sister to all of us, just as if she were born into the family. We will miss her so much! We always enjoyed our time with her and Phil and had so many laughs and good times together--what a wonderful sense of humor! Her thoughtfulness, happiness and kindness will be fondly remembered and dearly missed. We love you, Marlene. David & Nettie
