Obituary For Marion M. Kane

Marion M. Kane, 91, of Raleigh, NC (and formerly of Manhasset, NY) died September 5, 2012. She was born in New York, NY on June 13, 1921.

Marion leaves behind her daughters and sons- in -law Carroll Charbonneau, Maggie and Tim Everett, Katie and David Sullivan, her grandchildren Michael Charbonneau, Elizabeth Croom, Megan Wilder, Katie Bodenhorn, Matthew Everett, Lauren Sullivan, Marty Sullivan, John Sullivan, and her great grandchildren, Riley Bodenhorn, Jack Croom, Harrison Croom, Mason Charbonneau and Emily Charbonneau.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Matthew F. Kane, her son Matthew F. Kane Jr., her parents John and Elizabeth Merrigan, and her son-in-law Raymond Charbonneau Jr.

Marion graduated from St. Johns University in New York, worked in the mortgage department at The Bank of New York before devoting her life to raising her four children. She was an active member of the Millbrook Methodist Bridge Club in Raleigh, a parishioner at St. Raphael Church and an avid life-long golfer. Marion will be remembered for her compassion, generosity, love for family and friends, and her spirited personality.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, September 7, 2012 at. St. Raphael Catholic Church, 5801 Falls of Neuse Rd. Raleigh, NC. The family will receive friends for a visitation at the church one-hour prior to the mass. Burial to take place September 10, 2012 at Kensico Cemetery in Valhalla N.Y.

    I have only the fondest of memories of Marion!We shared golf games with our husbands in Manhasset and Florida!~We had cruise time together too!So many pool memories..diving meets etc..A wonderful mother and friend!
