Obituary For Marguerite Ricca Zombek

Mrs. Marguerite Ricca Zombek, 85, of Apex, NC, peacefully passed away on November 12, 2023, after a long illness. Born on April 13, 1938, to Wilhelmina and Joseph Ricca of Scranton, PA, Marguerite's journey unfolded with purpose and grace.

Marguerite graduated from St. Mary’s High School in 1956 and embarked on her career at Bell Telephone Company as a dedicated phone operator. In 1956, fate led her to Chester Zombek in Scranton, PA, and together they built a beautiful life. Their union blessed them with three children, Anthony, Gina, and Stephen.

In 1990, Marguerite embraced retirement, dedicating her time to cherished moments with family, friends, and her faith. A loving wife, mother, and grandmother, Marguerite found joy in the company of her children: Anthony and his wife Dr. Debra Zombek, and Gina and her husband Tim Dever. Her legacy lives on through her four grandchildren: Jessica and Dr. Mark Ferris, Dr. Hanna and Mario Fontana, and her great-grandchildren, Isaac Stephen Ferris, Elijah Robert Ferris, Avery-Kate Ferris, and Jake Patrick Dever.

Marguerite was predeceased by her beloved husband, Chester Zombek, her son Steven Christopher Zombek, and her sister Theresa Ricca Leo. Her memory will forever be cherished by those who knew her, and her spirit will continue to inspire love and connection within the hearts of family and friends.

In lieu of flowers, we ask that you consider requesting that a Mass be said for the repose of her soul at Holy Name of Jesus Cathedral, Raleigh or at St. Michael's the Archangel, Cary. Marguerite was a gift to us all. I so enjoyed my conversations with her during Christmas celebrations at Jessica house. She loved eating the Turkey leg and her pumpkin pie was so delicious My last memory of marguerite was her beauty wearing the beautiful red dress at christmas. She's praying for us all now.
