Obituary For Margie Lee Johnson

Margie Lee Johnson was born in Bedford, Virginia, to parents, John Alvin Carter and Lucy Orange Carter on July 17, 1941. She was raised in Thaxton, Virginia and attended high school in Montvale, graduating in 1960. She married in 1962 and traveled with her Air Force husband, stationed at such places as California, Oklahoma, England and Maine until he retired in 1978. They moved to Raleigh, NC where she worked at St Mary's College until retiring in 1995. She enjoyed genealogy, creating a map of her family tree going back 8 generations. She liked light traveling, visiting with friends and shopping. Margie Lee Johnson is survived by her husband of 52 years, Ronald E. Johnson; son, Mark Alan Johnson, of Raleigh; daughter, Michele Lee Johnson, of Raleigh; brothers: Alan and Shelby Carter, Charles and Dot Carter, and Hobart Carter, all of Bedford, VA; and sister, Amanda Rebecca Carter, of Lynchburg, VA.

She is predeceased by her parents and her brother, Willie Carter, of Bedford, VA. A funeral service will be held at Raleigh Memorial Park mausoleum chapel on Tuesday, December 30, 2014 at 11am.
