Obituary For Lucia Angelina DiMaggio
Lucia (Lucy) Macaluso DiMaggio was born in Manhattan on March 8, 1927. Lucy was the youngest of three children of Petro and Michelina Macaluso.
Lucy married Anthony (Tony) DiMaggio on September 10, 1949. During their 61 years of marriage they were blessed with two children, Vincent and Marianne.
Lucy was the typical Italian mother. She loved to cook and was always feeding her childrenââ?¬â?¢s friends and her neighbors. Her nickname was ââ?¬Å?Mama Lucyââ?¬Â?.
She was always the life of the party. Her favorite vacation was to spend two weeks in Myrtle Beach, SC where she met the same group of friends, for over 30 years. For the past 4 years, Lucy had spent her summers in NY and winters in NC. In both states she was active in two senior citizens groups and loved to participate in all their activities. Cruising, gambling (slot machines), and family dinners were some of her favorite things to do. Just the sight of a baby would bring a huge smile to her face. One of her hobbies was to collect ââ?¬Å?Smiley Faceââ?¬Â? knick knacks. Lucy never met a stranger; she would talk to anyone and everyone and would always remember their names.
She is survived by her husband, Anthony, Son and Daughter-In-Law, Vincent and Cheryl DiMaggio of Medford, NY, Daughter and Son-In-Law, Grant and Marianne Heston of Raleigh, NC and four Grandchildren, Vincent, Michael, Michele and Christopher.
