Obituary For Louis J. LoBraico

Louis Joseph LoBraico, 82, passed away Sunday, September 8, 2024, at Duke Raleigh Hospital. Lou was born in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn, New York to the late Dominick LoBraico and Beatrice DeStefano LoBraico.

He was also raised by his loving Aunt Rosie (Rose DeStefano).

His over sixty-year career in the textile industry began in Brooklyn and brought him and his family to Raleigh over forty years ago, where he owned and operated Premier Quilting Corporation, a textile manufacturing company. Beyond his successful professional life, he was most proud of being 'Pop' to his two beloved grandchildren. He is remembered particularly for his wonderful sense of humor, his integrity, kindness, and generosity.

He is preceded in death by his courageous wife of 40 years, Nancy Ann Lacerra LoBraico, and oldest daughter, Laurie Michelle LoBraico.

He is survived by his daughter, Jennifer Ann LoBraico; son, Louis Joseph LoBraico Jr. (and wife, Jenny); and grandchildren: Matthew Louis LoBraico (16) and Sophia Michelle LoBraico (13).

He is also survived by his twin sister, Lucille (82); sister, Helen (90); brother, Dominick Jr. (85), and his loving nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Lou will be held at Holy Name of Jesus Cathedral in Raleigh on Thursday, September 19, at 11:00 am.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made in his memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or Shriners Hospital for Children.
