Lora Lynn Hindsley (née Samples), 52, died at Duke University Hospital on February 25, 2021 due to complications involving lung rejection after her lung transplant in 2015. Lora was born on July 2, 1968 to her parents, Sharon Ingram and Roger Samples of West Virginia.

She was employed as an esthetician before getting too sick to work. Early in her diagnosis of pulmonary hypertension, Lora formed a support group in North and South Carolina for those also diagnosed with PH. She was a determined and strong woman. Family was incredibly important to her, and she would not hesitate to drop everything to help her loved ones or make them feel special.

Lora is survived by her daughter, Madison Hindsley of Cary, NC; her sisters, Tammy Samples Durate and Sherry Samples Thompson.

A Graveside Funeral Service* will take place on Friday, March 5, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at Pine Forest Memorial Gardens in Wake Forest, NC. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in Lora’s name to DUKE HEALTH so they may continue to help patients with pulmonary hypertension.
