Obituary For Lisa Beth Black

Lisa Beth Black, 45, of Raleigh, NC, died peacefully on April 28, 2022 after a long illness. Lisa was born July 26, 1976, in Amherst, NY.

Lisa graduated from East Mecklenburg High School in Charlotte, NC, and was a licensed aesthetician. Her true vocation, however, was in taking care of animals. She worked for many years as a veterinary technician and had many pets of her own.

Lisa loved bringing beauty into the world. She was a skilled painter and had an excellent eye for color. She enjoyed cheering for the UNC Tar Heels and was an enthusiastic fan of the Hartford Whalers hockey team – and, after the team moved to Raleigh, of the Carolina Hurricanes.

Lisa had a gentle and generous spirit. She loved family holidays and traditions, especially because they gave her a way to bring joy to the people she loved.

Lisa is survived by her mother, Hillary Kunz, and stepfather, Larry Kunz, of Wake Forest, NC; daughter, Avery Black, of Louisa, VA, aunts Joanne Havner Robertson (Jack) of Englewood, FL, and Brooke Van Brederode of Milford, CT; uncle, Robert Havner (Janet) of Strasburg, PA and many cousins, especially Nathan Havner (Keira) of Portland, OR, and Peter Van Brederode (Jennifer) of Milford, CT.

A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, April 30, 2022, at Renaissance Funeral Home, 7615 Six Forks Road, Raleigh, NC 27615. Interment will follow in the Garden of Renewal at Pine Forest Memorial Gardens, 770 Stadium Drive, Wake Forest, NC 27587.
