Obituary For Linda Lou LaVigne

Linda Garber LaVigne, born in Lancaster, PA, passed away on August 29, 2017, at the age of 69 years old after a long battle with cancer.

Linda was an avid gardener, a talented artist and a kind soul who made friends everywhere she went.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Angela and Rob Eisenhardt; her son, Jonathan LaVigne; her sister, Elaine Koller, of Lititz, PA; her granddaughters, Sophie and Eliza Eisenhardt, as well as a network of extended family and friends whom she loved dearly.

She was preceded in death by her parents, David and Helen Garber.

Visitation will be held Friday, September 1 at 10 a.m., followed by an 11 a.m. funeral, both at Renaissance Funeral Home in Raleigh. She will be laid to rest later that day in Mordecai’s Meadow at Oakwood Cemetery.

To honor Linda’s green burial request, her gravesite will be a perennial garden. To aid with this, Homewood Nursery in Raleigh (919-847-0117) has set aside and cared for plants and supplies needed for garden completion. Please consider purchasing these flowers for her eternal garden instead of cut flowers. If all perennials have been claimed, then cut flowers are welcome.

The family wishes to thank the team of Dr. JoEllen Speca at Rex Healthcare, the team at Transitions Hospice of Raleigh as well as our family and friends for their support and love through Linda's illness.

Family also request memorials can be made in Linda’s name to Transitions LifeCare, 250 Hospice Circle Raleigh NC 27607.

I was so sorry to hear that your mom had been so ill, and then of her passing. Keeping your family in my thoughts and prayers, and sending a big hug. Love, Jeanette

I can remember the numerous times that your Mom and Grandparents would stop in to see us on the way home from Red Point. Lots of fond memories of your Mom. the last time we saw your Mom was at Aunt Hattie's 90th birthday and we had a great visit with her and Jonathan.
