Obituary For Linda Frances Montefusco

Linda Frances Montefusco, age 54, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 6, 2022, after a long and courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.

Linda was born on April 14, 1968 in Brooklyn, New York and lived in Parsippany, New Jersey most of her life before moving to Sandyston, New Jersey in 2017. She moved to Raleigh, North Carolina a year ago in June 2021.

Linda attended Parsippany High School in New Jersey. She continued her education at the School of Visual Arts in New York City, New York, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts degree. Linda had a prosperous career as Director of Marketing at Ricoh Corporation and also created several entrepreneurial companies.

Linda had a zest for life. She had many interests, but especially loved nature. One could always find Linda immersed in her beautiful flower gardens, learning and reading about plants and trees, and growing herbs to use to cook in her delicious homemade meals. She was a lover of farmer markets, vintage collectibles, the New York Mets and the New York Giants, good food and music, and spending time with her family, friends, and her two dogs, Lois and Larry.

Linda's most precious treasures in her life were her two adoring sons, Alex and JJ. Linda loved her sons with her whole heart and soul. Alex and JJ made Linda's life complete.

A most beloved mother, daughter, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend, Linda represented the goodness that we all need everyday in our lives. Linda touched everybody's lives and made it a point to make all those she encountered feel important and loved. Linda immediately lit up any room she entered and made an impact on so many people throughout her life. Even when ill, Linda found a silver lining to keep pushing forward. She was someone who could actually rise to meet any challenge and adversity with a smile.

Linda was greeted in Heaven by her father, Patrick Robert DeMare, Jr. and her mother, Marcia DeMare; and her dogs, Bandit and Lloyd.

Those who will dearly miss Linda are her sons Alex Montefusco (Morristown, NJ) and JJ Montefusco (Raleigh, NC); her older brother and wife: Patrick Robert DeMare III and Karen, and their children: Patrick, Eric, and Olivia (Bonita Springs, FL); her younger brother and wife: Peter Alexander DeMare and Tracy, and their children: Ashley and Peter, Jr. (Parsippany, NJ); her best friend of 50 years, Maria Galasso (Parsippany, NJ); and nephews and cousins.

"God looked around the garden, and found an empty space. He looked down upon the earth, and saw your tired face. He put His arms around you and lifted you to rest. God's garden must be beautiful for He only takes the best. He knew that you were weary and He knew that you would never be well on earth again. He saw the roads were getting rough, and the hills were hard to climb. So he closed your weary eyelids, and whispered peace be thine."

A Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 am on Friday, July 29, 2022 at Renaissance Funeral Home, 7615 Six Forks Road, Raleigh, NC 27615. Repass to follow service.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in memory of Linda to The Garden Conservancy.

We've met Linda only once and that expereince was as you all describe it: full of laughter, joy, wit, fun and connection. We could tell right away that Linda was an amazing person and enjoyed that evening so much. Our thoughts are with her loved ones, with her sons, with anyone who loved her and especially with her sister-in-heart, Maria. Our heart is broken with yours, Maria, and with you all, and yet we know that Linda is in a better place right now. Somewhere where everything is beautiful and healed and whole. Choosing a pink candle for the beautiful bird that you treasured together, Maria. Much love to everyone, or hearts are with you who knew and loved her, Danilo & Sonja

It's been years since I last saw Linda's smiling face in the West Caldwell office. She was so very confident, and we all appreciated how she became the voice who represented all of our views and asked the hard questions no one else dared to ask. She had a quick sarcastic wit, and anyone engaged in conversation with Linda was sure to be overheard laughing. I'll never forget the day she welcomed two beautiful sons into her fold, nor will I forgot how proudly she spoke about them through the years as they grew from babies to young adults. Linda, may you be a peaceful rest in the company of your loved ones who embraced you as you entered your eternal life. May God pour his consoling grace upon your loved ones who mourn your passing. You've certainly left them with an abundance of wonderful memories to cherish and share forever.
