Obituary For Linda Ann Dietz

Linda Ann Dietz, 72, of Raleigh, NC, passed away on May 21st, 2023 after complications from liver failure. She was born in Plymouth, Michigan on March 9, 1951, the daughter of the late Frank and Ruth Dely.

Linda graduated from Plymouth HS in Plymouth, Michigan. After graduating high school, she attended Central Michigan University and later returned home to assist her mother with care of her ailing father. She went on to work for Ford Motor Company as an administrative assistant.

Linda moved to the Raleigh area in the early 1980s and was a stay at home mother helping raise her two sons Rob & Chris. She was very active in the community serving as PTA President and supporting both her sons in a variety of sports. Linda was an avid sports fan and animal lover–evidenced by her multiple adoptions of rescued dogs.

After her sons graduated from high school, Linda pursued a lifelong dream of becoming a hairdresser, and owned her own salon from 2004-2020, retiring in 2021. During her time as a hairdresser she regularly volunteered her time at local senior centers cutting hair.

Linda is survived by her two sons, Robert (Rob) Dietz of Monroe, NC, and Christopher (Chris) Dietz of Holly Springs, NC; and 7 grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother Bill Dely.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, July 21st, 2023 at the Summit Church, 3000 Lufkin Rd., Apex, NC 27539. Family and friends are welcome to a gathering with refreshments immediately after the service at the home of Chris and Kristen Dietz at 4805 Greenbreeze Lane, Holly Springs, NC 27540.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in memory of Linda to Second Chance Pet Adoptions.

Rob and Chris, I am so sorry for your loss. I will always remember working side by side with your Mom and Dad on many church activities and the support I received from them when we started the basketball program Your Mom entered the room and brought so much energy and warmth. May you know peace during this difficult time. Tom Clark
