Lilyn Daughtry Taux, 92, of Raleigh, North Carolina, passed away, April 6, 2023 at Transitions Hospice House after a battle with cancer. She was born in Smithfield, North Carolina on March 11, 1931 to Lillian and James Daughtry.

Lilyn was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Taux. They loved traveling, taking cruises, spending time at the beach and ballroom dancing.

Lilyn is survived by a daughter, Terri Wishart, of Raleigh, North Carolina, son, Andy (Rhonda) Starling of Sanford, North Carolina, grandsons, Forbes (Sara) Starling of Sanford, North Carolina, Jackson (Mary Morgan) Starling of Ocean Isle Beach, North Carolina. Lilyn is also survived by a nephew, Bobby (Vickie) Daughtry of Wilmington, North Carolina.

Lilyn loved to shop at Crabtree, literally shopping until she dropped. She loved to go to yard sales, antique shops, and Goodwill looking for little treasures. She found great joy serving people at North Haven Church’s community outreach, but had to stop due to health problems.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, April 15 at North Haven Church located at 6620 Forks Rd., Raleigh, NC 27615. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in memory of Lilyn to Transitions Lifecare, 250 Hospice Circle, Raleigh, NC 27607.
