Lillian Wrenn Pennisi, 92, of Raleigh, North Carolina peacefully transitioned into eternal rest at her home while surrounded by her family on Sunday, October 31, 2021. She was born on August 26, 1929, the eleventh of twelve children to the late Eugene Cleveland and Minnie Woodlief Wrenn. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 34 years, Tony Pennisi; her siblings, Eunice Spencer, Gladys Watkins, Lona Ayscue, George Wrenn, Ella Bailey, James Wrenn, Malcolm Wrenn, Mildred Smith, Dorothy Clay, Myrtle Wrenn and Jean Johnson. In addition to fulfilling her role as homemaker, Lillian was employed as a Claims Service Representative for Nationwide Mutual Insurance Company, retiring in 1987 after fifteen years of dedicated service. She loved her family dearly, enjoying many holiday gatherings and taking advantage of every opportunity to spend time with, and spoil, her grandchildren. Lillian is survived by her son, Gene Pennisi (April) of Raleigh; daughters, Donna M. Haughinberry (Brian) of Chesapeake, Va., and Anna P. Meares (John) of Raleigh; seven grandchildren, five great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held at 1:00 pm on Friday, November 5, 2021, at Pine Forest Memorial Gardens, 770 Stadium Drive, Wake Forest, NC 27587.
