To Ray, Lilian's children and grandson, I know the sense of loss I feel is only a fraction of what you all must feel. I worked with Lilian for just about my entire career at UNC. She was always a delight to be around. She had a great sense of humor and I enjoyed "teasing" her at times to see her playful reaction. Lilian was always approachable and kind. When she retired, I was happy for her to move on from the stress of work life and be able to spend time with Ray and her family, but it was a sad day for me and all of her work "family". And now we have to say goodbye again. Thoughts of Lilian always bring a smile to my face! My family's thoughts and prayers are with you all. Thank you for sharing her with us.

I worked with Lilian for so many years at UNC. She was a friend as well as a co-worker. Lunch with Lilian was always so much fun. I will miss her laugh. She was such a great person, gone too soon.

To Lilian's family. I am so sad to hear of Lilian's passing. I worked with Lilian for several years, though it has now been probably ten years ago. Lilian brought joy to the office. She was so dependable - not just for the work, but for the way she interacted with you. Always willing to help, always brightening someone's day. I hope you know that she has not only impacted your lives, but has touched the lives of her co-workers in ways that we don't always even recognize. I'm so sorry for your loss, and so appreciative to have known Lilian. Linda Raftery, UNC School of Medicine, Department of Medicine.
